This photograph of San Francisco, CA was taken from a helicopter by Jack Rankin using a specially mounted panoramic camera. It features picturesque downtown San Francisco with the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to the left. Pictured downtown is the world famous pyramid shaped Transamerica Building and to the distant right is the island prison known as Alcatraz, once housing such famous prisoners as Al Capone. The highway in the foreground of downtown has since been removed due to structural damage caused by the 1989 earthquake. The tall cylindrical tower to the right is the Coit Tower, located on Telegraph Hill.
