This panoramic photograph of Minneapolis, Minnesota was taken by James Blakeway. It shows the start of the Twin Cities Marathon with the Minneapolis skyline as a backdrop. The race starts adjacent to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, home of the Minnesota Vikings football team and the Minnesota Twins baseball team. The course ends in St. Paul, Minnesota after winding through 26.2 miles of scenic lakes, tree lined boulevards and parks. The course is run by 6,000 runners. There are also 4,000 volunteers and 250,000 spectators.
