This panoramic photograph was taken from a helicopter by James Blakeway. At 152 feet tall, the Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island in Upper New York Bay. Designed by F.A. Bartholdi, it was presented to the United States by the Franco-American Union to commorate the American Revolution. Dedicated in 1886, it became a national monument in 1924. Slightly right and behind the Statue of Liberty is Ellis Island.
