Simply immense, the top of the 1,248 foot high sky scraper looms in the sky. Thus the Empire State Building asserts itself as the symbol of the most impressive skyline in the world. John Jacob Raskob one of the financiers and vice president of General Motors, created a monument with this architectural milestone. At its dedication in 1931, the legendary classic had already broken all records: 102 stories. 1,860 steps, 6,500 windows and 73 elevators that could glide to the 85th floor within 90 seconds.
