David Ross
David Ross makes paintings about suits, men, women, telephones, televisions, computers, clocks, bosses, rebels, trains, autos, beaches, money, and other relevant life stuff. Artwork inspired by modern life, often humorous, satirical, or edgy. Illumination and analysis of modern life.

Born in Texas, David spent his first 18 years with his family moving around the world while his father worked on engineering projects. He graduated from college in 1977 with a degree in architecture and practiced in that field for fifteen years, developing an insiders appreciation for his favorite artistic inspiration, business.

In 1991 David decided to pursue art full time, and opened a small gallery in Santa Barbara. The response was immediate and positive, and he hasn't once looked back. His first national exposure came in early 1993 with a sell out show in New York. In a short period of time David has attained a wide following, placing paintings into many private and corporate collections around the country and internationally. A book on David's work is scheduled for publication in 1996.

David lives part time in Santa Barbara, California, and part time in the mountains in Mammoth Lakes, California, where he does much of his artwork. He is a full time artist, on the job every day, either creating new work, doing business, or searching for inspiration. For fun he climbs mountains and watches television.
