Pablo Picasso

Born the son of a Spanish painter in 1881, Pablo Picasso produced his first work of art at age eight. He worked throughout his life with a vast range of media including painting, sculpture and collage.

Considered by many to be the most important artist of the twentieth century, he is renowned for his technical skill, versatility and incredible productivity. His work and life, spent primarily in Paris and the South of France, is characterized by limitless energy and an insatiable appetite for experience, expression and love.

When he died at age 91, he left behind a body of work that is unlikely ever to be surpassed.
